The rising star Oscar Ziolkowski wins MLO SCL POLAND 2022

Last weekend was a blast! A perfectly executed event in Sopot, a loud cheering crowd of fans, and some phenomenal scores - what more could you wish for, really?

As a proud moment for all the members of the MLO's family around the world, this stage of the Strongman Champions League was organized by MLO Poland and its leader - the strongman Sebastian Kurek. On top of that, Sebastian decided that he couldn't miss the show in his homeland and put on his gym wear to compete as a participant, which is a precedent in the SCL's history. Despite the pressure and the fatigue surrounding the preparations for such a major sport event, Sebastian gave a fantastic performance, especially in the discipline Bag Toss Medley, where he finished first.

Hardly surprising, Kelvin De Ruiter from Holland dominated in his crown discipline the truck pull, while the Latvian warrior, Aivars Smaukstelis, was way ahead of his rivals in the Super Yoke and Atlas Stone Medley. Roberto Rodriguez and Travis Ortmayer also delivered solid results throughout the competition and found a place in the Top 5.

However, it was the Polish strongmen that ran the show in Sopot. The rising star of the heavy lifting in Poland - Oscar Ziolkowski, embodied all the skills of a champion. From the very first discipline, Shot Put, he managed to manifest his huge ambitions in the tournament, and in the end, he finished with a total score of 62.5 points - almost ten more than the silver medalist Aivars Smaukstelis.

Maciej Hirsz, another talent from Poland, displayed remarkable potential and strength abilities, which allowed him to take the bronze home. Unfortunately, one day after MLO SCL POLAND, Maciej suffered a severe injury while participating in another regional strongman competition. The entire MLO team wishes him a speedy recovery and many more brilliant performances like the one in Sopot. The entire MLO team wishes him a speedy recovery and many more brilliant performances like the one in Sopot. The same goes for Sean O'Hagan from Ireland, who damaged his leg in the brutal Super Yoke discipline. We hope to see them both fully recovered in the following stages of the MLO Strongman Champions League.
